Your Zone Thursday: Egg-citing Easter

By Florence Massey
Thu 5 Apr

Easter’s upon us and as we munch through the delights of animal-shaped chocolate, we bring you the best of our week. From chic snaps and homemade Hobnobs to au revoirs, YZF has the springy step of the Easter bunny as we head into the (hopefully sunny) long weekend.

Three things we've done

On your marks

Got on our marks
This week has seen our Powerade team launch a competition of Olympic proportions on Twitter. Winners will get a once-in-a-lifetime chance to sprint down the track at the Olympic Stadium before the athletes have even had a go. Tweet a picture of yourself in the starting blocks position to the PoweradeGB Twitter feed, including the hashtag #onyourmarks, to be in with a chance of winning.

Golf by numbers

Played golf by numbers
This fun feature from our BT team paints a picture of golf by numbers, as the countdown to the Masters begins.

Come Dine With Me

Remembered the good times
Over on the Channel 4 Food team, our senior writer Lauren Bravo got nostalgic as she looked back on some infamous Come Dine With Me dinners. From poo on the table and ‘celeb’ guests to Take Fat’s Blobby Williams, this feature will have you laughing and cringing your way through the best bits of the cooking competition.

Beardstrokable infogram

It’s almost Easter Sunday and the Zoners are thinking about only one thing. No, not afternoon drinking and lie-ins, it's all about chocolate eggs! So which eggs do they hope to unearth on their egg-stremely egg-citing egg hunts? (Sorry, we couldn't help ourselves.)

Zone hero of the week

This week, our Channel 4 Food editor Amanda Nicolas leaves for her baby break. There’s no rest for the wicked (-ly brilliant) though, as she’ll spend the next few days moving and shaking her way to Paris for a brief stay. Bon voyage, Amanda, we'll miss you.

Pro-social tuppence worth

How often do you genuinely surprise your fundraisers and supporters? How could a charity encourage people to donate online? Over on our Public Zone Twitter account, we spent last week discussing and sharing thoughts on the next #bigidea with our followers. Check out the feed for the latest news, inspiration and debate from the public sector. Oh, and the odd photo of executive director Jonathan Simmons standing next to a windmill in Amsterdam.

‘I made this’

It doesn't take long for news of home-baked goods to make its way round the Zone office. These Hobnob-style coffee creams were crafted by financial controller Nic Mendoza’s wife. And as you can see from this snap, by the time YZT made it there, word had already got out.

NEWSFLASH!

We have a new BT Vision digital editor! This week, we welcome Maxine Clayman to the team. She’s a Twitter addict with her own blog, My Hidden Gems, and she’s seen Jason Donovan in his underpants (they were white Y-fronts).

Three things we like

Edible cookbook

Eating our words
World's first 'edible' cookbook
You’ve heard of cooking the books. Well, this is it, literally. For fans of reading, cooking and eating, design agency Korefe has rolled all three into one with true-to-form German efficiency.

Chocolate badger

Chocolate animals

The Easter edition wouldn't be complete without more chocolate than is good for you, so ditch the Creme Eggs this year, and opt for one of these funky animal chocs instead. Actually, why not have both? We're particularly keen on the badger.

Mad Men game

Save the day
Mad Men: The Game
Put on your suavest suit, mix yourself an old-fashioned drink and see if you can help Don save the agency in this interactive YouTube game. Watch out for Betty, she has a gun and she's not afraid to use it.
