Your Zone Friday: Are you sitting comfortably? Then we’ll begin…
Things we’ve done and things we like this week
Once upon a time in London town, there was a busy, busy street called Eversholt Street. On this busy, busy street was a magical building where the finest digital products in all the land were made. Let’s take a look at one chapter in this story and find out what the good people at Zone were up to this week…
Three things we've done

Gone awards crazy
There were three little pigs, Hansel and Gretel were a double act, and there was only one Little Red Riding Hood. These pale into insignificance compared to a whopping FIVE nominations for Zone in the Revolution Awards. The Pepperhood game we created for Dr Pepper is up for the Best Use Of Consumer Engagement and highly coveted Best Integrated Marketing Campaign awards, BT Life's A Pitch for the Best Use Of Search, Relentless Energy Drink is up for Best Website, and our MyFarm project for the National Trust for Best Not-For-Profit Campaign.

Interviewed a Champions League-winning footballer
We all love a fairy tale, and this week dreams came true for Dan Willis, editor of BT Life’s A Pitch, when he chatted to Liverpool legend Dietmar Hamann. After some heavy fawning, Dan got around to going all Paxman on Dietmar – see for yourself.

Got all mushy
How do I love thee? Let me count the recipes. Our ever-prepared Channel 4 Food team have put together these tasty treats that make both the perfect Valentine’s Day gifts and a delicious addition to a romantic meal.
Zone hero of the week
When you go down to the woods in October, you may just see our very own account manager Anna Heaton. This, however, ain’t no picnic, as she’ll be busting a lung in the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon! Make sure you sponsor her, though, it’s for charity.
Tea or coffee? You can't beat a cappuccino from Nero. But on an ordinary day, a strong cup of builder's tea with a dash of milk is a winner.

Zonecontent.com stat of the week
In last week’s chapter, we discovered who the most viewed members of the Zone team were, but how do people get to zonecontent.com? Here are five of the more surprising keywords that led people to our humble site this week. You could write your own short story with these…
1. lamb potjiekos recipes
2. brian mcfadden fat
3. penguin story online
4. small ass on line
5. telephone number fish fight

‘I made this’
Zone staff share their creative moments
Ace designer Jack Cole was tasked with giving our feature wall a refresh and this week we saw the fruits of his labour. "Euston has never been considered a very glamorous London location, but it’s rich in history. These photographs take a look at the stories around every corner of Eversholt Street," he said. From Euston's brutalist highlights to the St Pancras old church, Jack's snaps add an extra ounce of culture to the Zone offices.

NEWSFLASH!
You lucky people. Due to a special visit from Prince Charming, you get a double dose of newsflashes, or newsfli (plural) this week. That’s right, the Prince of Wales, Prince Charles, paid a visit to Eversholt Street on Thursday to see the sights of St Mary’s church. We asked him to pop in, but he was in a rush. Tsk, some people.
Another newsflash!
Like some music while you read? Then listen out pop pickers, our very own DJ Smooooooooth Ben Gomori has a spanking new radio show. Tune in to Strongroom Alive at 87.9FM, or strongroom.fm, to hear Ben’s dulcet tones and fierce jams coming live from the famous Strongroom recording studio and bar in trendy Shoreditch.

Three things we like

Loldogs
While we have story time, the canine world descends on a park somewhere in the USA. But what really happens in a dog park? If only someone would strap a video camera onto a dog and let them loose to find out. Oh, wait. They have.

Retromania
New things made to look old? It’s always cool, isn’t it? But how to make it cooler? Use Nicolas Winding Refn’s Drive as an inspiration for some retro-based fun, add a dash of Ryan Gosling, and you’ve got a surefire winner.

Henry Miller
Sticking with our story theme, how about that Henry Miller? He sure knew how to write, didn’t he? The amazing Lists of Note has dug up the literature legend’s top 11 commandments on how to write. Beautiful.
