Your Zone Friday
Things we’ve done and things we like this week
There’s slightly less than one year to go before London explodes in a carnival of rock-hard abs and rippling biceps. We appreciate the mind-body connection at Zone. We’ve got a dodgeball team.
Three things we've done

Launched a Vision
Apply the sex appeal and precision skill of the Brazilian beach volleyball team to entertainment-based digital content and you’ve got a glimpse into the workings of our BT Vision team. They’ve relaunched the website for BT Vision customers that’s hotter than Pippa Middleton’s ass and cooler than her disregard for double-dipping into her wardrobe. See why they’re handing out high-fives at www.btvision.com

Got sweaty
We’re following one real-life athlete’s journey from training to track in the Special Olympics, with Coca-Cola’s reporter Charlotte Cox. We shot this video of her at the World Summer Games in Athens. It’s emotional.

Gone for gold
Dedication. Perspiration. Indigestion. Talk to our team working on the Channel 4 Paralympics website and you’ll learn what it takes to get to the top in the world of desk-based sports-themed entertainment. Kill hours with this addictive boccia game and then vote for it as the Best Online Game in The Net Awards.

This week’s data makeover
Who doesn’t enjoy a mid-afternoon treat like Bovril with a sugary biscuit? But after being burned one too many times by premature disintegration, we’ve called on our Channel 4 Food team for the definitive answer to the age-old question: Which biscuits won’t let you down when you dunk?

Zone hero of the week
James Moorhead joins our creative team as junior video producer. He’s already been hard at work making cakes even more delicious for kitchen gurus NEFF. Serious business by the look of it.
Tea or coffee? James likes a weak tea with one sugar.

Geek of the Week speaks
Our tech team are on a mission to shed their nerdy reputation. We chart their progress…
Idea from senior developer Dom Da Costa: "Ask for our department to be changed from the 'tech team' to the 'cool team'. Officially we are now to be referred to as Team Lightning Dragon Power 7. We’ve also developed this logo..."

‘I made this’
Zone staff share their creative moments
This week: Editorial assistant Sarah Boning got serious with a gingerbread man.

NEWSFLASH!
Senior designer Josh Butcher won some Argos vouchers in a raffle and will be putting them aside for a new Dyson vacuum!

Three things we like

The app

An accidental find while searching for anything, anything that explained the film Tree of Life. Cutsey graphics disguise what’s essentially a sinister tool telling you when you’ll die. Pop that into Google Calendar.
