Landmark moment for Coca-Cola during Earth Hour

One of the first stories we featured on the Coca-Cola GB homepage was about the company’s involvement with Earth Hour 2010. The international event, organised by the World Wildlife Fund, sees people across the globe unite against climate change and switch off their lights for 60 symbolic minutes.
Last Saturday marked Earth Hour 2011 and Zone’s Coca-Cola team went out onto the streets of London to film the lights-out action. At precisely 8.30pm, an array of major landmarks – including the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Tower Bridge and Coca-Cola’s iconic neon sign in Piccadilly Circus – were plunged into darkness for the cause. Then over at the Royal Albert Hall, a team of 60 cyclists, including TV presenter Kirsty Gallacher and a representative from Coca-Cola, used their combined pedal power to project a video on the outside of the building for the entire hour.
