Zone and the Paralympic Games

Things we've done

Having hosted 4,269 athletes from 64 countries, generating expected ticket revenues of £45m, the London 2012 Paralympic Games have been hailed as the most successful Paralympics ever.

After Channel 4 won the rights to broadcast the Paralympic Games, Zone was appointed to create the Channel 4 Paralympics Games website. Last week, we reported how we designed the original website to establish the Paralympics as an elite sporting event.

We're proud to have played a part in making sure the Games will be remembered as an iconic period of Britain's sporting history after we helped to build interest in the sports and athletes, such as David Weir (above), in the two years leading up to London 2012.

Zoners certainly embraced the Paralympic fever, with over a quarter of the Zone staff heading to the various venues to watch, support and cheer on Team GB – giving some a chance to reflect on what the Games had achieved in both the sporting sense and in the wider digital arena

To celebrate, we've put together a case study on our involvement in the Games and the part we played, right from the start.
